Global Waqf Conference or the ‘GWC’ has started its annual conference at the global level since 2013, in its first conference held in Kuala Lumpur. The initial organisation was carried out with a co-joint between the International Centre for Waqf Research (ICWR) which was formerly under International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Yayasan Kajian dan Pembangunan Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Malaysia (YKPD). Currently, there are four main institutions sitting as the Main Secretariat; there are IIUM, UNIRAZAK and Al Medina University and UNITAR International University. FINTERRA, its partner, oversees matters pertaining to social media of the GWC, websites etc. Other organizations which organize the event become the Collaborators for the GWC.
Aims and Objectives of the Fund are:
- To provide for the organization of an annual Conference for Global Waqf Conference (GWC)
- To establish a Cash Waqf Fund from the benefits of the GWC Endowment
- To form an account for Crowdfunding for the Organization of the GWC Conference
